Phil Diamond
was elected to the City Council in 2002. He
was re-elected in 2006 without opposition.
He served as Mayor Pro Tem from 2005 to
2007. His district stretches from Delaney
Park to the Osceola County border. Half of
the City’s land is in his district. He is
married with a daughter and a son and lives
in Delaney Park. He is a practicing attorney
who is of counsel to the Carlton Fields law
firm.
Commissioner Diamond has
been a tireless advocate for our
neighborhoods. He has supported efforts to
reduce traffic congestion and improve the
safety of our roads. He has been
instrumental in improving and expanding our
park system. Commissioner Diamond has worked
to diversify our economy and bring high
paying jobs to Orlando. He is known as a
staunch fiscal conservative.

Jeanne
Wilson was born in Georgia and spent her childhood moving
around the country with her military family.
She moved to Orlando as a teenager and attended William R. Boone
High School. She started
her career with the City in April, 1999, initially with the Office of
Neighborhood Services. She
soon moved to the City Commissioner’s office where she served as an aide
to a former city commissioner until January, 2006 when she transferred
to the City Clerk’s office. After
serving as the Citizen Board Coordinator and as the secretary for the
Citizen’s Police Review Board, she came back to the City Commissioner’s
Office where she replaced Sandra Johnson, Commissioner Diamond’s long
time aide, after her retirement.
Jeanne comes from a strong background of customer service and
administration, previously working at the Orlando Utilities Commission
and Phoenix Financial Planning Company as well as owning her own
business, Animal Crackers Pet Sitting Service, from 1995 to 2000.
Jeanne attended Class 48 of the Citizen’s Police
Academy and was awarded the Good Citizenship Award for her successful
completion. She was also
recognized at City Council on July 13, 2009, and was awarded the
M.E.R.I.T.S. Outstanding
Employee Award for the Executive Offices in the 2nd Quarter
2009.
Jeanne has a daughter and grand-daughter living in Georgia.
She and her husband are fond of
animals and have a house full of dogs, cats, and other little creatures.
Officer
Edgar Malave
was born in Puerto Rico and has one older sister.
After graduating from William J. Dean High School, in Holyoke
Massachusetts he began his career of service.
Officer Malave began serving his country as a United States
Marine in 1992. While
serving his country, one of Officer Malave’s duties was as a Scout
Swimmer. He and a handful
of fellow Marines were responsible for securing safe landing zone on the
beach prior to the arrival of his fellow Marines.
In 1996, after completing four years of active duty service,
Officer Malave was honorably discharged from the United States Marine
Corps and moved to Orlando.
Officer Malave began to serve the state of Florida in 1996 as a State of
Florida Correctional Officer.
Officer Malave continued his service for the state of Florida in
1998 when he was accepted to attend the Florida Highway Patrol Academy
in Tallahassee. While
serving as a State Trooper, he received thank you letters from his troop
commander for leading Troop K, Orlando with the highest enforcement
activity in Troop K.
In 2000, after serving as a State Trooper for over two and a half years
Officer Malave joined the Orlando Police Department.
Officer Malave has been serving the citizens of Orlando ever
since. He has worked all
areas of the city. Officer
Malave has held many positions within the Orlando Police Department.
He served the Police Department as a Patrol Officer, Gang Unit
Detective, Missing Person’s Detective, Special Investigations Detective,
East Orlando Task Force, and Assistant Squad leader for the Parramore
Heritage Bike Unit. Officer
Malave is currently assigned to the Crime Prevention Division as the
District 1 Liaison Officer.
Officer Malave proudly holds a position on the Orlando Police
Department’s S.W.A.T. team as a Tech.
Officer Malave is a dedicated and motivated officer assigned to his
current position as a result of his hard work dedication. |
