Transportation

	Transition the entire City fleet to bio-diesel, hybrid, flex fuel and other alternative fuels within the next 5 years.
	Convert every stop light and pedestrian signal to Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology.
	Implement a car sharing program in Downtown Orlando.
	Improve bicycling and pedestrian opportunities through expansion of existing amenities.
	Partner with regional transportation providers to enhance transportation choices including Commuter Rail, Lymmo and LYNX.

Light Emitting Diode (LED) Technology Lights up the City The City of Orlando is converting every stop light and pedestrian signal from incandescent bulbs to LED technology. The benefits of using this type of technology includes low cost, long life and high efficiency. On an average, LED’s use 80 percent less energy and last six to ten times longer than conventional bulbs. Converting all stop lights and street signals will give the City an estimated savings of more than $27,000 a month. Additionally, the LED technology provides increased visibility for drivers.
