Promoting the tradition of "self-help" in
neighborhoods is the foundation of the City's neighborhood outreach. The
Neighborhood Relations team assists neighborhood groups and residents in
effectively accessing and using City services and other community
resources to enhance the quality of life in Orlando’s neighborhoods.
Services offered include:
- Expertise in organizing and
maintaining neighborhood associations
- Assistance with
reorganizing/revitalizing neighborhood associations
- Training workshops, seminars and
individualized training on community issues
- Monthly Community Connections
Workshops
- Help in organizing meetings to
address neighborhood issues
- Publications and materials on
building and sustaining strong neighborhoods
- Maintains list of City of Orlando
Neighborhood Associations and their contacts
- Problem solving experience in
community issues
- Hosts Annual Neighborhood and
Community Summit
- Assistance with meeting notice,
agendas and association newsletter development
- Information and referral about city
departments and resources available to citizens
- Facilitates free meeting space
in city facilities for neighborhood, homeowner, condominium and
resident associations

Neighborhood & Community Summit
On
Saturday, April 10, 2010, more than 300 neighborhood, community and
faith based organization leaders and volunteers participated in
Mayor Dyer’s annual 2010 Neighborhood & Community Summit held at the
Orlando Marriott Downtown. The Summit offered 12 workshops divided
into Sessions A and B and concluded with a public safety panel
discussion during lunch.
