Stormwater Section
Maintain the database used to support the
Stormwater
Utility billing system to insure that it is kept up-to-date, that
charges are based on each property's contribution of stormwater runoff to
the system and to assist in properly accounting for the funds collected.
Monitor and insure compliance with the
City
Stormwater Utility Code with regards to maintenance of existing
stormwater systems.
Stormwater Compliance
Collect and maintain, through water
samples, monitoring, and inspections, the
data necessary to support the preservation of the quality of
Orlando's
lakes for the enjoyment of its citizens and to comply with applicable
regulations.
Serve as City liaison to citizens for
lake
water quality data by answering inquiries and complaints, and by
conducting public awareness and education programs.
Monitor and insure compliance with the
City
Stormwater Utility Code which seeks primarily to improve the public
health, safety and welfare by providing for the safe and efficient capture
and conveyance of stormwater runoff and the correction of stormwater
problems.
Surface Water Management
Provide
responsible environmental and ecological management of the lakes and
stormwater facilities throughout the City of Orlando.
Eliminate
or bring under control all invasive and problematic native aquatic plants
in the City's lakes, waterways and stormwater facilities.
Ensure
that the lakes and drainage facilities are maintained to create an
environmentally sound and aesthetically appealing aquatic community.
